This is a tissue culture grown Monstera Deliciosa 'Bulbasaur', a rare variegated sport originally discovered as a seed mutation. The cultivar is recognised for its mosaic and mottled variegation in shades of mint, cream and dark green, giving each leaf a distinctive camouflage-like appearance. Variegation pattern and coverage will vary from leaf to leaf. This is a characteristic of the plant and part of what makes it unique.
Propagated through tissue culture, this specimen benefits from clean, disease-free genetics and stable variegation. Tissue culture plants tend to establish well and develop stronger root systems over time.
For best results, semi-hydro is the recommended growing method. An airy aroid mix with bark, perlite and pumice is also suitable. Provide bright, indirect light to support variegation, and maintain humidity above 60% where possible. Water when the top few centimetres of substrate have dried out. Avoid direct sunlight on the pale portions of the leaves, as these areas are more sensitive to burn.
The exact plant shown in the photo is the plant you will receive. Please be aware that minor cosmetic damage such as small marks, blemishes or slight imperfections on leaves is unavoidable during growth and transit.
